The National Working Committee (NWC) of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has lifted the suspension of its Kano State Chairman, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, describing the suspension as illegal, undemocratic, and ineffective.

In a statement issued from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, the NNPP condemned the action taken by some executives in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, as a violation of the party’s constitution.

The statement, signed by NNPP National Publicity Secretary Mr. Bamofin Ladipo Johnson, emphasized that ward officials do not have the authority to suspend or remove a state chairman.

“The National Working Committee of the New Nigeria People’s Party condemns the purported suspension of the Kano State Chairman, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, stating that such action is misplaced, undemocratic, null, void and of no effect whatsoever,” the statement read.

The party described the move by the Gargari Ward executives as a serious act of anti-party behavior that breaches the rules governing discipline and leadership within the NNPP.

The NWC praised Dungurawa’s leadership, highlighting his commitment and hard work in strengthening the party’s structure in Kano State. It stressed that his efforts should not be undermined by questionable actions at the ward level.
