The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Kuwait has advised Nigerian nationals residing in Kuwait and Bahrain to remain vigilant and strictly follow safety guidelines amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. In a circular dated March 1, the Embassy urged Nigerians in both countries to stay calm and monitor official announcements from the Kuwaiti and Bahraini governments.

“In view of the prevailing circumstances in the region, the Embassy wishes to advise all Nigerian nationals to remain vigilant, observe safety guidelines, follow advisories from host governments, and remain calm at all times,” the circular read.

The mission also encouraged nationals to track local news and official communications, noting that it is closely monitoring developments while maintaining contact with community leaders. To enhance support and coordination, the Embassy announced a dedicated mobile and WhatsApp line for inquiries and updates. Nigerians can reach the mission via email at nigeriakuwait@yahoo.com

The advisory follows reports that on February 28, the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iranian leadership and military targets, reportedly under the operations named Operation Epic Fury and Operation Raging Lion. Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks on U.S. and Israeli bases, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly moved to close the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route.

Amid these developments, the Nigeria Police Force has reassured citizens at home of sustained security vigilance, emphasizing that Nigeria will not become a theatre for foreign conflicts and affirming its commitment to maintaining national security and public safety.
