The Nigerian Army has officially released the list of successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission DSSC Course 29 2026 recruitment exercise. The announcement was made on Monday through the Nigerian Army’s official X handle.
According to the statement shortlisted candidates are to report for training at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry NASI in Jaji Kaduna State by 9 00 a m on February 22 2026. The Army informed the general public that the names of successful candidates are available on its official recruitment portal.
The statement explained that only candidates whose names appear on the list are expected to report to the training venue. The Army also warned that failure to comply strictly with the given instructions could lead to disqualification from the exercise.
Shortlisted candidates were directed to report with specific items required for documentation and training. These include writing materials and four copies of recent coloured passport photographs. Candidates are also expected to bring four copies of recent full size short sleeve photographs taken in a standing position.
The Army noted that the reverse side of the photographs must clearly display the candidate’s surname first name other name and date of birth. Serving personnel are additionally required to include their service number and current unit. Candidates are also to present scratch cards for online confirmation of WAEC or NECO results.
Other required items include three plain white short sleeve vests three pairs of blue shorts a pair of canvas shoes or trainers and three pairs of white socks. Candidates are also expected to come with buckets toiletries and a full set of cutlery including plates and drinking cups.
Beddings such as blankets bedspreads mosquito nets and pillowcases are also mandatory. The Army stressed that candidates must present themselves neatly and with all required items to ensure a smooth screening and training process.
The Direct Short Service Commission is one of the key recruitment pathways into the Nigerian Army aimed at enlisting qualified professionals to strengthen the nation’s defence and security architecture.
