Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralised four suspected terrorists and rescued two kidnapped victims during a coordinated security operation in parts of Kaduna State.

The operation was carried out on Saturday around Dokan Karji and Kwassam communities in Kauru Local Government Area, following actionable intelligence on the movement and activities of armed terrorists in the area.

According to security sources, the troops engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle, leading to the neutralisation of four suspects, while others reportedly fled the scene with possible gunshot wounds.

Two victims who had been abducted by the terrorists were rescued alive during the operation. Military sources confirmed that the victims are in stable condition and have been reunited with their families after undergoing preliminary medical checks and debriefing.

Troops also recovered items suspected to have been used by the terrorists and extended clearance operations to nearby bushes and suspected hideouts to prevent fleeing elements from regrouping.

Residents of Dokan Karji and Kwassam communities expressed relief after the operation, describing it as a major boost to security in an area that has recently experienced incidents of banditry and kidnappings.

Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements across Kaduna State and the wider North West region, assuring residents that efforts will continue until lasting peace is restored.
