Nigerian Army and Operation Safe Haven Rescue 18 from Kidnappers, Apprehend Bandits in Plateau and Taraba

Troops from the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, alongside those from Operation Safe Haven, have successfully no fewer than 18 individuals from a kidnapper’s enclave. This was shared by Samson Zhakom, the Information Officer for Operation Safe Haven, during a briefing in Jos, the capital of Plateau State. According to Zhakom, the victims have been safely reunited with families following their rescue and subsequent profiling and documentation by relevant agencies.

The rescue operation took place at the borders of Taraba and Plateau states, where the troops conducted an offensive maneuver. This operation not only to the liberation of the hostages but also resulted in the arrest of some and the seizure of dangerous , including ammunition and firearms.

In another related development, troops from Sector , under Operation Golden Peace, apprehended five bandits at a hideout in the Tarangol of Bokkos Area, Plateau State. From these bandits, several items were recovered, including rifles, 7.62mm special rounds, cartridges, and daggers.

, these troops also intercepted bandits at Jannaret in Mangu Local Government Area who were allegedly planning to incite in the . The arrested individuals are slated to be handed over to the appropriate legal authorities for prosecution, with ongoing investigations to further dismantle networks in these areas.
