NFL wide receiver Rondale Moore has been found dead at the age of 25, authorities in Indiana confirmed. Moore, who most recently played for the Minnesota Vikings, was discovered Saturday night in New Albany.

Floyd County Coroner Matthew Tomlin said no additional details regarding the circumstances of Moore’s death were immediately released. He noted that there was no threat to the public and that an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Moore entered the NFL as a second round draft pick out of Purdue University, where he built a reputation as one of college football’s most dynamic playmakers. He spent his first three seasons in the league with the Arizona Cardinals, contributing as both a wide receiver and return specialist.

In 2024, Moore suffered a significant setback when he dislocated his right knee during training camp with the Atlanta Falcons. The injury prevented him from appearing in a regular season game for the team.

Determined to revive his career, Moore signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2025. However, his comeback attempt was hampered when he sustained another injury while returning a punt in the team’s first exhibition game.

Tributes have poured in from across the football community. Jeff Brohm, now head coach at the University of Louisville and Moore’s former coach at Purdue, described him as an ultimate competitor with an infectious smile and relentless drive.

Moore’s sudden passing has left teammates, coaches and fans mourning the loss of a talented athlete whose career was marked by resilience and determination.
