Nebraska Quarterback Dylan Raiola May Enter Transfer Portal

Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is contemplating entering the transfer portal for the second consecutive year, following the recent decommitment of his younger brother, Dayton Raiola, from Nebraska’s 2026 recruiting class. Head coach Matt Rhule has publicly supported Dylan, denying any knowledge of transfer plans while emphasizing his focus on recovery from a broken fibula sustained on November 1 against USC.

Dylan, a former five-star recruit and Nebraska’s highest-paid player at $3.5 million for the season, has been a critical asset for the Cornhuskers, recording 4,819 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions with a 69.1% completion rate over 22 games. Although sidelined due to injury, he is expected to be ready for the upcoming season.

In the meantime, freshman quarterback TJ Lateef has taken over, leading the team to a 1-1 record. Lateef, a four-star recruit from the 2025 class, is set to start in the regular-season finale against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The situation raises concerns regarding the stability of Nebraska’s quarterback position and the overall future of the program. As the Cornhuskers approach their final game, attention remains on Raiola’s potential transfer and the team’s quarterback dynamics. This development is crucial not only for immediate game strategies but also for shaping Nebraska’s long-term prospects in college football. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how these factors will influence the team’s performance and recruitment strategies moving forward.
