Mozambique is experiencing widespread flooding that has caused extensive damage to infrastructure and displaced thousands of residents across multiple regions. Heavy rainfall has overwhelmed rivers and drainage systems, submerging roads bridges and residential areas while cutting off access to several communities. Authorities report that transportation networks have been severely disrupted making it difficult for emergency services to reach affected populations.

Government officials stated that key highways linking provincial capitals have been rendered impassable while electricity and water supply systems have sustained significant damage. In several districts schools health centers and public buildings have been forced to close as floodwaters continue to rise. Humanitarian organizations operating in the country warned that the scale of destruction is placing additional strain on already limited resources.

Emergency responders have been deployed to conduct evacuations and provide temporary shelter food and medical assistance. International aid agencies are coordinating with national disaster management authorities to deliver relief supplies by air and water where road access is no longer possible. Health experts have raised concerns about the risk of waterborne diseases as stagnant floodwaters contaminate drinking sources.
