Minister Pledges Swift Action to Resolve Abuja’s Long CNG Queue

The Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, has addressed public concerns over the prolonged queues at the CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) conversion center on Airport Road in Abuja. This center, managed by NIPCO filling stations in collaboration with the Nigerian Petroleum Company () and EPP Gas, has been the focal point of recent complaints about gas shortages and infrastructure challenges.

Speaking to the press, Ekpo acknowledged the situation and reassured the public of swift intervention. “I became aware of the long queue along Airport Road at NIPCO yesterday,” he , clarifying that although the project is a venture with NNPCL, he had taken immediate by contacting EPP Gas to explain the shortage.

Ekpo emphasized that adequate gas exists domestically, suggesting that the issue might stem from infrastructure limitations rather than supply shortages. “We have to try as much as possible to improve infrastructure for gas delivery,” he said. “What we produce in our country is more than enough.” He further highlighted that NIPCO had initially committed to having 12 functional CNG stations, and after a with and EPP Gas, he expected quick solutions.
