Dr. Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, has called upon northern elites to support President Bola Tinubu’s policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda. This appeal was made during his acceptance speech after being named the ‘Most Impactful Minister’ by the Arewa Think Tank. The Minister credited his achievements to the collaborative governance style of President Tinubu.

Alake highlighted the transformation within the solid minerals sector, where order has been restored through initiatives like the Mining Marshals, a collaborative effort between the Ministries of Interior, Defence, and other departments. He also spoke about the success of international marketing of the mining sector, attributing these accomplishments to inter-ministerial cooperation, which he described as a hallmark of Tinubu’s administration.

He reflected on Tinubu’s past roles, from being a Senator in the Third Republic to his tenure as Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2007, where Tinubu demonstrated visionary leadership and financial strategy. Alake also addressed the current economic challenges faced by Nigerians due to the administration’s policies, framing them as necessary sacrifices for future prosperity. He emphasized that these policies aim to empower citizens by fostering wealth creation and addressing systemic issues like fuel subsidy abuses.
