Man Arrested in Adamawa State Over Brutal Killing of POS Operator

A identified as Umar SNU has apprehended in Adamawa State in connection with the violent death of Abbas Yuguda, a 35-year-old Point of Sale (POS) operator. The was made by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command following a deadly assault in Mayo-Belwa Local .

According to a statement released by Police Relations Suleiman Nguroje in the early of Monday, March 24, 2025, the incident occurred on March 22, 2025. The victim was attacked while returning after closing business for the day. “Some groups of people themselves with offensive weapons, attacked and inflicted severe injuries on his head and left him lying in a pool of blood,” the police detailed. Operatives from the Divisional Police Headquarters in Mayo-Belwa responded swiftly, rushing Yuguda to Cottage , where he was pronounced .

The police statement further revealed that Umar SNU, identified as one of the suspects, was pursued by an enraged group of following the attack.
