Malaysian maritime authorities confirmed that two oil tankers carrying crude valued at approximately 129 million dollars were seized during operations targeting illegal fuel transfers. Officials said the vessels were detained in Malaysian waters after surveillance raised concerns about unauthorized ship to ship activity. Investigators believe the crude was transferred in violation of national and international regulations.

The maritime enforcement agency stated that crew members were questioned and documentation seized for further examination. Authorities emphasized that illegal crude transfers undermine energy security and deprive the state of revenue. Environmental risks were also highlighted as unregulated operations increase the likelihood of spills and maritime accidents.
