The Lebanese Armed Forces stated that they have expanded operational control across sections of the southern border region following heightened tensions and cross border exchanges. Military officials indicated that additional units were deployed to reinforce state authority and coordinate with international peacekeeping forces stationed in the area.

According to the army command, patrols and checkpoints have been strengthened to prevent unauthorised armed activity and to reassure local communities. The announcement comes amid increased scrutiny over security arrangements in the south, where non state armed groups have historically maintained a presence.

Government representatives emphasised that the deployment underscores Lebanon commitment to sovereignty and stability. They also reiterated support for existing international resolutions that call for the exclusive presence of national armed forces in designated border zones.

Observers note that the Lebanese Armed Forces face complex challenges, balancing domestic political sensitivities with regional security dynamics. International partners have long supported efforts to bolster the capacity of the national military as a stabilising institution.

The situation remains fluid as diplomatic efforts continue to prevent further escalation along the frontier.
