The Lagos State Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JNC), representing the Trade Union side, has praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approving and implementing a 100 percent end-of-year bonus for state public servants. The council also lauded the governor for awarding car gifts to outstanding officers as a mark of recognition for their exceptional service.

In a statement released by the council’s Chairman, Mr. Michael Adeleke, and Secretary, Mr. Biodun Bakare, the gesture was described as a landmark milestone that reaffirms Governor Sanwo-Olu’s unwavering commitment to public sector welfare, productivity, and motivation.

The council highlighted that the car awards serve as a strategic incentive to reward merit, encourage innovation, and foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The end-of-year bonus will be paid in two installments: 50 percent with the December 2025 salary and the remaining 50 percent with the January 2026 salary. This payment structure reflects a thoughtful response to current economic challenges and aims to provide financial relief during the festive season and into the new year.

“These interventions go beyond routine administrative decisions and represent morale-boosting measures capable of strengthening industrial harmony, loyalty, and performance,” the statement said.

The council reaffirmed that this development underscores the importance of constructive engagement and sustained social dialogue between the Lagos State Government and organized labor.

Finally, the council pledged continued partnership with the Sanwo-Olu administration to advance policies that enhance workers’ welfare and improve service delivery outcomes.
