Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has confirmed that a porous հատված of the perimeter fence at Akure Airport created an access point exploited during a recent security incident involving suspected criminals.

Speaking on the development, Keyamo assured the public that the airport itself was not the target of any , emphasizing that the intrusion resulted from an external security situation that spilled into the airport premises.

The incident has sparked conflicting reports between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the Nigeria Police Force. While aviation authorities initially claimed that four suspected bandits were arrested within the airport vicinity the police refuted this stating that only two suspected logistics suppliers linked to kidnappers were apprehended outside the airport along nearby routes.
