Kano Pillars FC have confirmed the departure of midfielder Umar Sani Yakasai and striker Samuel Tiza ahead of the second half of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The club, known as Sai Masu Gida, announced on Wednesday that the contracts of both players were terminated by mutual agreement. In a statement, the team said: “Kano Pillars FC wishes to announce that, following a mutual understanding, the club has amicably parted ways with striker Samuel Tiza and midfielder Umar Sani Yakasai.”

Both players are now free to pursue opportunities elsewhere, with the club wishing them success in the next stage of their careers. The departures leave gaps in the squad that Kano Pillars are expected to fill as they prepare for the league’s second stanza.

This development comes as the club looks to restructure and strengthen the team for a competitive run in the NPFL, following an intense first half of the season. Kano Pillars are widely expected to explore the transfer market to bring in new talent capable of boosting their midfield and attacking options.

Fans of the club are likely to watch closely as management moves to reinforce the squad and maintain their status among Nigeria’s top football teams. The club remains committed to fielding a competitive side and achieving its objectives for the remainder of the season.
