Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Joins APC to Align State with Federal Development Agenda

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that the move is aimed at strategically aligning the state with the centre of national governance to accelerate development. The announcement was made at a grand rally held at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, attended by thousands of supporters and political leaders.

Governor Yusuf emphasized that his decision was driven not by personal ambition, but by the responsibility to position Kano for effective engagement with the Federal Government, attract opportunities, and deliver tangible benefits to its citizens. He noted that the state must be an integral part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that reforms at the national level require committed implementation to benefit Nigerians.

Expressing gratitude to Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors from Jigawa, Sokoto, Kaduna, Katsina, Borno, Yobe, and Plateau states, as well as former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Governor Yusuf highlighted that their presence demonstrated political unity and a shared commitment to stability and sustainable development in Kano.

The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, formally received Governor Yusuf into the party and called on all party stakeholders to support him. Leaders, lawmakers, and party officials assured the governor of their full cooperation and loyalty to advance Kano State’s growth under APC leadership.

Governor Yusuf concluded that Kano’s alignment with the APC will strengthen the state’s participation in national development, ensuring its citizens benefit from federal initiatives and policies.
