Kano State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership has thrown its full support behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole contender for the 2027 presidential race.
The endorsement emerged from a strategic three-day stakeholders’ summit held at the residence of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former APC National Chairman and influential figure in Kano politics. The gathering drew representatives from all 44 local government areas and 484 wards, signaling a unified front across the state.
Umar Idris Shuaibu, a prominent APC voice in Kano, described the meeting as a calculated move to reinforce party unity and readiness. He praised Ganduje’s leadership in fortifying the party’s grassroots network and ensuring operational discipline.
“Kano is unwavering in its support for President Tinubu,” Shuaibu affirmed. “Dr. Ganduje has built a resilient and well-organized political structure that reflects the strength of our commitment.”
The summit concluded with resolutions aimed at boosting local engagement, maintaining active ward offices, and welcoming defectors from rival parties. Ganduje reportedly directed that all local and ward-level offices remain open and functional to accommodate new members and sustain momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
This endorsement positions Kano as a key battleground of support for Tinubu, reinforcing his influence within the APC and setting the stage for intensified political mobilization in the months ahead.
