Troops of 1 Division/Sector 1, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have successfully foiled a bandit attack in the Maraban Rido area of Kaduna State, neutralising one suspected terrorist and recovering stolen livestock.

The operation followed a distress call on January 22, 2026, reporting that armed bandits had rustled livestock in Anguwan Fulan village along the Rido axis. Acting swiftly, troops laid a hasty ambush and engaged the fleeing criminals, who sustained gunshot wounds and retreated in disarray.

Further pursuit into surrounding forested areas, including the Kankomi forest, led to additional contact with bandits near Anguwan Sarki. During the engagement, soldiers overwhelmed the attackers, forcing them to abandon their loot and flee, resulting in the recovery of some of the rustled livestock.
