João Félix, the Portuguese forward, has completed a transfer from Chelsea to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, signing a two-year contract. The deal, valued at approximately £43.7 million ($58.17 million), includes an initial fee of £26.2 million, with potential add-ons.

Félix’s move to Al-Nassr reunites him with compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been instrumental in the club’s recent successes. Reports suggest that Ronaldo personally reached out to Félix, emphasizing the benefits of playing together ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The 25-year-old forward’s career has seen several transitions in recent years. After his initial move from Benfica to Atlético Madrid in 2019, Félix had loan spells at Chelsea during the 2022–2023 season and at Barcelona. In August 2024, he made a permanent move to Chelsea but was loaned to AC Milan in February 2025. His latest transfer to Al-Nassr marks another significant chapter in his professional journey.

Al-Nassr, under the guidance of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, is aiming to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season. The club is set to face Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup semi-finals on August 19, and the addition of Félix is expected to bolster their attacking options.

Félix’s departure from Chelsea allows the London club to recoup a portion of the £52 million paid to Atlético Madrid in 2024. The funds are anticipated to be reinvested in new signings, with reports indicating interest in players like Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

The transfer also highlights the growing influence of the Saudi Pro League in attracting top European talent. With high-profile signings like Ronaldo and Félix, Al-Nassr is positioning itself as a formidable force in Asian football.

Félix’s move to Al-Nassr is expected to have a significant impact on both the Saudi Pro League and European football, as it underscores the increasing appeal of the Middle East as a destination for top-tier players.
