He emphasized that the Act is designed to enhance accountability and transparency in fiscal operations through a medium-term fiscal framework and the establishment of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission.

Jimbo further highlighted that Section 11(1)(b) of the Act requires the Federal Government to and present the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the National Assembly no later than four before the commencement of the next financial year. This framework should cover the upcoming three financial years, providing a crucial foundation for the nation’s economic planning and fiscal management.
