In a major boost for Vanderbilt University, five-star quarterback recruit Jared Curtis has officially signed with the Commodores, a significant milestone for the program’s revival. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior from Nashville Christian School flipped his commitment from the University of Georgia to Vanderbilt on December 2, 2025, just before the early signing period. Curtis is highly regarded as the top quarterback prospect in the 2026 class, holding the No. 1 ranking in the ESPN 300.

Curtis’s recruitment has been eventful. Initially committed to Georgia in March 2024, he decommitted in October that year, later recommitting in May 2025. However, Vanderbilt’s persistent efforts and its recent achievements, including a 10-2 record and a spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, were instrumental in his decision to switch allegiance.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Curtis stated, “Being here in Nashville and seeing what Vandy has been doing this season has been amazing… I want to be a part of that, to be close to home, to play in front of my family and friends, and to be what I love to be, an underdog.” His commitment is not just revolutionary for him but is also expected to significantly strengthen Vanderbilt’s quarterback position and enhance the program’s competitiveness in the Southeastern Conference.

As he prepares to contribute to Vanderbilt, Curtis is also focused on leading Nashville Christian to a state championship game on December 4, 2025. His signing marks the beginning of a promising new era for the Commodores, highlighting their upward trajectory under head coach Clark Lea.
