Geregu Power Appoints Sean Manley as Interim CEO

Geregu Power Plc has announced the appointment of Sean Manley as its Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective February 2, 2026, subject to the approval of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and the company’s shareholders at its next general meeting.

The appointment was disclosed in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Thursday. According to the company, Manley brings more than 30 years of experience in the global power sector, spanning sales, business development, project implementation, supply-chain management, and original equipment manufacturer-led project delivery.

He also has extensive expertise in thermal power generation, including plant construction, commissioning, major overhauls, and long-term operational support.

“The Board of Geregu Power Plc hereby notifies the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public of the appointment of Mr Sean Manley as the Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective 2 February 2026, subject to the approval of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and the shareholders of the Company at the next general meeting,” the notice stated.

Manley previously worked at Siemens, where he developed strong technical and operational capabilities while managing complex energy projects across multiple jurisdictions. He is widely recognised for delivering projects in challenging operating environments and for his strengths in stakeholder management, logistics, procurement analysis, and business development.

The Board of Geregu Power expressed confidence that Manley’s international experience and leadership will add significant value to the company and support its strategic objectives within Nigeria’s power generation sector.

The appointment forms part of Geregu Power’s broader efforts to reinforce leadership capacity and improve operational oversight as it continues to play a key role in Nigeria’s electricity supply.
