The Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed confidence that the infrastructure projects his administration is currently delivering will strengthen public trust and increase support for President Bola Tinubu in the state.

Fubara made these remarks while inaugurating the 5.94 kilometre Ihuowo Ihuama Road in Ahoada East Local Government Area, a project his administration awarded in October 2024.

He said the road project shows his government’s dedication to responsive governance and meeting the urgent needs of the people.

The governor described the intervention as a fundamental duty of any people focused government, explaining that the road had been dangerous and a hotspot for crime and kidnapping.

Fubara emphasized that his administration remains committed to improving the living standards of residents throughout Rivers State.

He stated, “It is our duty as a government to listen to the needs of people and come to their aid. This road in Ahoada East was a death trap. Kidnapping was high on this road.

“I am talking about other security issues. This corridor was the major corridor that those who don’t want peace in this country would always use to access the river. With what we have done, it is not going to be business for them.

“I have not done what is unusual, because we have done what we need to do as a government.”

Fubara added that although every administration has a limited time in office, his government will be remembered for its simplicity, openness to public concerns, and quick response to the people’s needs.

He also said the projects his administration is delivering will stand as proof of fulfilling President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by 2027, and that promoting the president to the people will not be difficult.
