The Oluremi Tinubu is scheduled to preach at Lambeth Palace on Thursday as part of activities for President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the United Kingdom.
Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, serves as a central site for the Church of England. The First Lady is also expected to meet with representatives of the church during her visit, according to the official itinerary published by AFP.
The state visit, Nigeria’s first to the UK in nearly four decades, aims to strengthen bilateral relations between both countries. President Tinubu and Mrs Tinubu arrived in London on Tuesday via Stansted Airport ahead of a series of formal meetings and civic engagements.
The visit includes talks with King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as well as engagements with the large Nigerian diaspora in the United Kingdom.
Mrs Tinubu, a devout Christian and ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has been active in faith based initiatives and women’s empowerment programmes in Nigeria in recent years. Her preaching at Lambeth Palace underscores her growing role in religious diplomacy alongside the state visit.
