The Federal Government will hold a two-day National Economic Council (NEC) Conference on February 9–10, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to enhance economic coordination and accelerate inclusive growth across Nigeria’s 36 states.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, in his capacity as NEC Chairman, will preside over the conference, which is convened by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu. Governors from all states, key federal stakeholders, development partners, and private-sector leaders are expected to attend. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as Special Guest of Honour.

The conference, themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” aims to provide a platform for federal and state actors to align priorities, deepen collaboration, and synchronise state programmes with the Federal Government’s national economic agenda.
