FG Releases 6 #EndBadGovernance Protesters, Set to Arraign 3 Others

The Federal Government has six who were arrested the #EndBadGovernance , with others set to be arraigned in court. The protests, which took place as part of a broader call for reforms and better governance, led to the detention of several demonstrators.

Following public outcry and pressure from civil society groups, the government decided to release six of the individuals detained. However, the have confirmed that three protesters will still face , though the against them remain .

The release of the six protesters has been welcomed by and rights who have been calling for the unconditional release of all individuals arrested in connection with the protests. Many have viewed the detentions as an attempt to stifle dissent and suppress the constitutional right to peaceful assembly.

A spokesperson for the protesters expressed relief at the release but criticized the decision to proceed with the arraignment of the remaining three individuals. “While we are glad that some of our colleagues have been freed, the fact that three others are still charges shows that the for is far from over,” the spokesperson said.

The #EndBadGovernance protests were part of a nationwide movement calling for accountability, transparency, and an end to corruption in government. Demonstrators also voiced concerns over hardship and demanded better living conditions for Nigerians.
