The minister criticized the Rivers State Government for withholding the lawmakers’ entitlements before the declaration of the State of Emergency, calling it unfair to deny elected officials their dues over disagreements.

Wike also thanked the Assembly members for gifting him a car and praised their support for him and their dedication to the welfare of the people of Rivers State.

He remarked on the unity within the Assembly, saying, “If you have not had the opportunity to be in the corridors of power, you will not understand that a man can be influenced negatively by his spouse and a woman can be influenced negatively by her spouse. But here in the State House of Assembly, all of them have shown that they are working together for the development of the state.”
