Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced that the completed FCT Bus and Taxi Terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo will begin operations soon, following approval by the Federal Executive Council. Wike made the announcement on Friday after inspecting ongoing projects in Abuja, including the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, which provides access to the terminal.

The minister expressed satisfaction that President Bola Tinubu and the FEC approved the management of the two terminals under a Public Private Partnership arrangement. He explained that although the terminals were completed and inaugurated in 2025, they could not commence operations earlier because management approval required FEC intervention.

Wike confirmed that the management team is already putting processes in place to ensure the terminals start operating within the next one to three weeks.

During the inspection, the minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, noting that the road would be inaugurated to mark President Tinubu’s third anniversary in office. He also commended the delivery of the Arterial Road N1 from Wuye District to Ring Road II, expressing optimism that the project would be completed and handed over before the end of the year.

Wike emphasized that residents of the FCT deserve the best infrastructure, and assured that the administration is committed to providing quality roads and transport facilities to meet the growing needs of the territory.
