Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, former manager and CEO of EeZee Conceptz, has publicly addressed the allegations of financial mismanagement made against him by gospel artist Mercy Chinwo. Following a court order from a Federal High Court in Lagos for his arrest over claims of embezzling $345,000, Onyedikachukwu took to Instagram to defend himself and counter-accuse Chinwo.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had accused him of diverting funds and withholding royalties from Chinwo’s earnings from digital platforms and events, with a motion supported by legal provisions from the 1999 Constitution and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015. The EFCC had warned of issuing a public summons if Onyedikachukwu evaded arrest, with the court setting January 24 as the date for his arraignment.
In his response, Onyedikachukwu claimed that Chinwo had received over $625,000 from EeZee Conceptz and accused her of breaching their contract. He stated, “You have received over $625,000 from EeZee Conceptz to date, yet you spread falsehoods about a bad contract.” He further accused her of manipulating law enforcement and religious organizations against him, alleging that she failed to deliver a promised third album and withheld funds that were due to the label.
He detailed his investments in Chinwo’s career, including housing her and securing apartments for her and her band leader, and claimed he had always acted with integrity, even after an alleged wrongful detention by the EFCC, where he claims $274,000 was extorted from him. Onyedikachukwu emphasized his commitment to legal processes, suggesting that if Chinwo’s claims were legitimate, she should engage in the resolution processes outlined in their contract rather than resorting to public accusations.
He also challenged Chinwo to provide transparency by posting her bank statements and comparing her output before and after signing with EeZee Conceptz, asserting that he had funded her entire music catalogue. He concluded by invoking Proverbs 17:13, warning against repaying good with evil, and expressed his trust in the legal system and divine justice to vindicate him.
