The European Union has pledged to deliver hundreds of emergency power generators to Ukraine as the country faces a deepening winter energy crisis caused by sustained Russian strikes on critical infrastructure. EU officials said the generators will be sent urgently to support hospitals, water facilities, shelters and residential areas experiencing prolonged electricity and heating outages.

The assistance comes as freezing temperatures grip large parts of Ukraine, leaving millions of civilians vulnerable after repeated s damaged power plants and transmission networks. Ukrainian authorities said rolling blackouts and heating disruptions have intensified pressure on already strained communities, particularly in major cities and frontline regions.

EU leaders stressed that the emergency support is part of a broader commitment to help Ukraine maintain basic services during the winter months. Alongside generators, the bloc is also providing fuel, technical support and financial aid to ilize the energy system and protect civilians.

Brussels accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure to worsen humanitarian conditions, a claim Moscow denies. European officials reiterated that continued energy assistance would remain a priority as the conflict shows no sign of immediate resolution.
