Ethiopia Launches National Dialogue Initiative to Address Ethnic Tensions

Ethiopia has formally launched a nationwide dialogue initiative aimed at addressing persistent ethnic tensions and restoring political stability across the country. The process is designed to bring together representatives from diverse communities political groups civil society organizations and traditional leaders in an effort to resolve long standing grievances through structured dialogue.

Officials overseeing the initiative say the dialogue seeks to promote national unity by creating an inclusive platform for discussion on governance identity security and constitutional reform. Ethiopia has experienced repeated episodes of ethnic violence driven by disputes over land political representation and administrative boundaries. These tensions have strained state institutions and displaced large numbers of civilians.

The dialogue commission has emphasized that participation will be voluntary and regionally inclusive.
