Strasbourg forward Emanuel Emegha has heaped praise on Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, calling him one of the most exceptional strikers in world football today.
Emegha, who is set to join Chelsea at the end of the season, spoke highly of Osimhen’s consistent brilliance across Europe, from his early days at Lille to his standout performances at Napoli, Galatasaray, and with the Nigerian national team.
In an interview, the Dutch-born striker of Nigerian heritage shared his admiration:
“Yes, I think he’s fantastic and I’ve been following him for a long time. First at Napoli, now at Galatasaray. Watch him play: with his back to the defender, he receives an aerial ball, a pass that’s difficult to control. It’s no problem for him. He jumps two meters and controls the ball with his chest. As if it were nothing.”
Though Emegha opted to represent the Netherlands internationally, he acknowledged Osimhen’s influence on his own development as a striker. The 21-year-old has had a solid season with Strasbourg, scoring seven goals and providing two assists, and is expected to bring his growing talent to Stamford Bridge next season.
Osimhen’s reputation continues to rise, especially after very good displays on the pitch in recent years. His physical dominance, aerial ability, and clinical finishing has continually earned him a lot of praises from peers and pundits alike.
