El Salvador recalls Mexico Ambassador after drug trafficking claims

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has recalled the country’s ambassador to following claims by Mexican Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch that a drug originated from El Salvador. Bukele vehemently denied the allegation, providing flight path data indicating the plane never entered Salvadoran airspace. He that the plane flew over the Pacific Ocean, of El Salvador, before heading north.

The incident occurred when Mexican intercepted the plane in Colima, arresting three individuals and seizing 427 kilograms of cocaine.
