Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday cordoned off the Abuja residence of former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, restricting movement in the area.
Eyewitnesses reported that EFCC operatives arrived in multiple buses and took strategic positions along Koranakh Close off Amazon Street, effectively blocking access to the street.
Residents and visitors were reportedly denied entry as security presence intensified, with the anti-graft agency maintaining full control over the neighbourhood. The reason for the EFCC’s action has not been officially disclosed, and authorities have yet to release a formal statement.
The development adds to ongoing scrutiny of public officials by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agencies, reflecting heightened enforcement efforts in recent months.
