Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the immediate suspension of Dr. Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, following allegations of serious financial and official misconduct.

The announcement was made in a statement released on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, from Benin City, the state capital. The decision comes amid mounting concerns over alleged irregularities in the administration of the state’s healthcare agency.

According to the statement, the suspension is to allow for an in-depth investigation by a special committee that will be constituted by the state government. In the interim, the most senior officer within the agency has been directed to assume leadership in an acting capacity.
