In a shocking development that has rocked the of Maiduguri, Inspector Musa Isah, an administrative officer with the 74 Mobile in Damboa, was apprehended for the sexual assault of a 14--old boy. The incident reportedly took place on the night of January 24th, 2025, in Isah’s residence at Block 42, within the Police Barracks in Maiduguri, Borno .

According to reports from SaharaReporters, the boy, identified pseudonymously as Adamu, was lured to Isah’s flat under deceitful pretenses. There, he was given a drink that made him feel , allowing Isah to overpower and sodomise him. The assault was discovered to the boy’s screams, which alerted neighbors who then intervened, leading to Isah’s immediate detention at the Metro Divisional Police headquarters.

Further investigation into Isah’s past revealed that this was not his offense. In 2022, he was at Mopol 6 Barracks in Maiduguri. that incident, he was transferred to Damboa, but managed to return to Maiduguri, where he allegedly continued his predatory behavior, using gifts like android phones and designer clothes to lure young boys. Despite his arrest, Isah reportedly remains confident, boasting of that could shield him from justice.

This case comes at a when homosexuality is heavily criminalized in Nigeria, particularly under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act of 2013, and in Borno State, where Shari’a law applies, potentially facing severe penalties including death by stoning. The situation is further complicated by another recent report of a Nigerian lieutenant arrested for similar offenses within the military in Borno State, highlighting a concerning pattern of abuse within forces.

The police spokesperson, Nahum Daso, has not responded to inquiries regarding this case, leaving many unanswered about how such acts could persist within a law enforcement environment.
