Cristiano Ronaldo is set to travel to Madrid for treatment on his right hamstring injury, Al Nassr coach Jorge Jesus confirmed on Friday. The 41 year old will receive care from his personal physiotherapist as he focuses on recovery following the injury.

Ronaldo sustained the muscle injury during Al Nassr’s 3 1 league victory over Al Fayha last weekend, forcing him to leave the pitch limping. Coach Jesus stated that medical tests revealed the injury is more serious than initially anticipated, making rest and specialized treatment essential.

“After the tests he underwent it became clear that it is a more serious injury than we were expecting,” Jesus said. “He will need rest and recovery. Cristiano will travel to Spain for treatment, as will other players who were injured. He will need treatment from his personal physiotherapist. We hope he will return soon to help the team.”

No exact timeline has been provided for Ronaldo’s return, but the forward will be aiming to recover in time for Portugal’s upcoming international friendlies. The national team is scheduled to face Mexico at the renovated Azteca Stadium on March 28, followed by a match against the United States in Atlanta Georgia on March 31, as preparation for the World Cup.

Ronaldo’s absence will be a significant concern for Al Nassr FC, particularly as the club continues its campaign in domestic and continental competitions. Al Nassr currently leads the Saudi Pro League by two points over Al Ahli. Ronaldo is third in the league’s top scorers chart with 21 goals this season, just behind Ivan Toney of Al Ahli who has 23 goals in 23 games.

The Portuguese captain’s fitness and recovery will be crucial for both his club and national team in the coming weeks.
