A commercial motorcyclist known only as Papa Ejime has reportedly taken his own life by consuming a substance believed to be an insecticide. The tragic event unfolded on Sunday morning in Oghara, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Reports indicate that Papa Ejime’s followed the recent breakdown of his marriage. Neighbors, speaking anonymously, revealed that the deceased was a habitual gambler who frequently turned violent toward his wife, particularly after losing bets. Earlier this year, he allegedly struck his wife in the mouth, knocking out her teeth during one such episode. Prior to the marriage’s collapse, his wife had shouldered the family’s financial burdens, covering house rent, food, and their children’s school fees. Fed up with persistent domestic violence, she eventually left the home with their children.

Despite multiple attempts by Papa Ejime to reconcile and bring his wife back, his efforts proved futile. Neighbors suggest that this failure may have driven him to the desperate act of ending his life. The incident has shed light on the devastating consequences of domestic strife and personal struggles in the community.
