Known across the Bundesliga for his fearless, combative style, Schlager has earned comparisons to Bayern legend Bastian Schweinsteiger thanks to his relentless energy and willingness to battle in midfield. Despite his importance to Leipzig, the 28-year-old currently earns a modest €5 million per season, making him an attractive, low-risk option for top clubs seeking experience without a transfer fee.
German great Lothar Matthäus believes Bayern should act quickly. With Leon Goretzka expected to depart, Matthäus sees Schlager as a natural replacement, praising his international pedigree and deep understanding of the league.
