Barcelona is thinking about giving Hansi Flick a new deal that would keep him as their coach until 2028. Right now, Flick’s contract lasts until 2027 after he extended it last May. He had a great first season, winning three trophies with the team.
Joan Laporta, the club president, wants to make sure Flick stays longer even though Flick prefers shorter contracts. Laporta is also planning to bring in some new star players. The big question is how Barcelona will pay for these expensive signings.
Laporta said, “there is money available if the club needs to splash out.” If Robert Lewandowski leaves when his contract ends this summer, Barcelona might look for a big-name player to replace him. But it is still unclear if the club will have enough money to spend a lot or which players Flick will want after the 2025-26 season ends.
