The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, has commended President Bola Tinubu and Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele for the ongoing reconstruction and expansion of the Ado-Ijan-Ikare Road.

In a statement signed by ASUP-FPA Chairman Engr. Caleb Adeosun and Publicity Secretary Oyewale Oyelola, the union also lauded Senators Yemi Adaramodu and Cyril Fasuyi for their roles in facilitating the project. The road, a major access route to the polytechnic, had been in poor condition for years, prompting protests by staff and students.

ASUP-FPA highlighted Senator Bamidele’s engagement with union leaders in March 2024, which assured Federal Government intervention. The union described the reconstruction as a reflection of the Tinubu administration’s commitment to infrastructure development in Ekiti State and urged sustained oversight to ensure quality delivery.

The union also praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for constructing the ring road linking Ijan, Afao, and Iworoko communities, which has eased traffic and travel for staff. Appreciation was further extended to Afe Babalola University founder Aare Afe Babalola for his consistent palliative interventions on the road over the years.
