The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its strong determination to reclaim Osun state and secure a clear victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The party’s national chairman, Nentawe Yulwatda, made this statement on Thursday at the APC national secretariat in Abuja while presenting the certificate of return to Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the party’s governorship candidate for Osun state.

Yulwatda said that Oyebamiji’s selection by consensus showed unity, maturity, and teamwork within the party. He said, “It is particularly heartwarming that Asiwaju Oyebamiji emerged by consensus. This speaks to unity, maturity, and teamwork; values that must be sustained. Leadership is collective, even though the glory eventually rests on one shoulder. Working with the entire family is not optional; it is essential.”

The APC chairman criticized the current Osun state government, saying it has focused more on “optics and theatrics” than real development over the past three years. “For the past three years, Osun state has been defined more by optics and theatrics than by tangible development. Governance has too often appeared as performance, with little in terms of concrete projects or enduring impact that the people can truly point to,” he added.

Yulwatda promised that an APC victory would bring leadership judged by real results instead of show. He noted that Osun was the only south-west state President Tinubu lost in the last general election and vowed to change that outcome. “This time, we are determined to win convincingly for our candidate in Osun and for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
