APC Sets South East Zonal Congress in Enugu Ahead of Nationwide Schedule

All is set for the zonal congress of the All Progressives Congress APC South East region, scheduled to hold in Enugu on Wednesday.

The congress is part of the 2026 Schedule of Activities and Timetable of Nationwide Congresses and Related Activities released by the party’s national leadership, though venues were not initially specified.

In a letter addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, jointly signed by the National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Senator Surajudeen Bashiru, the party officially named the Multipurpose Hall of Hotel Presidential Enugu as the venue for the South East zonal congress.

Other zonal congress venues include the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan Stadium in Lagos for the South West zone, the Dome Event Centre Asaba in Delta State for the South South zone, the Yar’Adua Multipurpose Conference Centre Murtala Muhammed Square Kaduna for North West, the International Conference Centre Gombe for North East, and the Aliyu Akwe Doma Conference Hall Government House Lafia Nasarawa State for North Central.

All zonal congresses are expected to commence at 10 o’clock in the morning at their respective venues, marking a critical phase in the party’s nationwide organisational activities ahead of future elections.

The party’s zonal congresses are designed to strengthen internal structures streamline decision making, and enhance grassroots participation. Officials and delegates from all states in each zone are expected to converge at their designated venues to participate in leadership elections and policy discussions.

Observers note that successful conduct of these congresses is vital to maintaining party unity and demonstrating organisational readiness for the broader political calendar.
