Kwara State — The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State conducted its ward congress across all 193 wards on Wednesday, marking the affirmation of party leadership at the grassroots level. The exercise, overseen by the party’s national Screening and Appeals Committee, was widely described as peaceful and carnival-like in Ilorin, Asa, Ekiti, Baruten, and other areas.

Leadership Affirmed Through Screening
APC State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, explained that the exercise was conducted through affirmation, aiming to minimize conflict while ensuring continuity of leadership. “The idea behind affirmation is to make the exercise less rancorous. It signifies progress, unity, and togetherness, and foretells huge success for the party in the 2027 general elections and beyond,” he said.

Alhaji Abdullahi Samari, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Congress Committee, emphasized that all participants were duly screened before taking part, ensuring that only qualified candidates were confirmed as executives in their respective wards.
