APC Has What It Takes To Win Abia In 2027 Says Benjamin Kalu

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Benjamin Kalu, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress APC in Abia State is well positioned to win the 2027 general elections in the state.

Kalu made the statement while addressing newsmen after the APC State Congress held in Umuahia. He noted that the peaceful conduct of the congress at ward local government and state levels demonstrated unity and maturity within the party. According to him the calibre of individuals in the party and the adoption of consensus in selecting leaders have strengthened the APC structure across the state.

Former Minority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Chijioke Chukwu, emerged as the new Chairman of the Abia APC by consensus. Chidi Avoaja was chosen as Secretary while Uche Aguoru became the Publicity Secretary among other executive members.

Kalu stated that the consensus arrangement which allowed party leaders at various levels to nominate candidates marked a new chapter in political party administration in the state. He declared that the APC is now stronger and ready to break new ground in Abia politics.

He further affirmed that Abia is ready to deliver massive support for President Bola Tinubu in 2027. According to Kalu the party has the capacity to secure more than 80 percent of the votes for the President in the state.

Speaking at the event the National Welfare Officer of APC, Chief Donatus Nwankpa, commended key leaders including Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Minister of State for Labour Nkeiruka Onyejeocha for their roles in ensuring the success of the congress.

Also speaking, Emmanuel Goar who represented the national committee for the Abia Congress praised the Local Organizing Committee led by Chief Marc Wabara for its effective coordination.

In his acceptance speech Chijioke Chukwu thanked party members for their confidence and pledged to serve with humility and dedication as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
