ADC Leaders Declare Door to Door Mobilisation Ahead of 2027 Governorship Bid in Imo State

Former governor of Imo State, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, has announced that the African Democratic Congress ADC is preparing to launch a door to door sensitisation campaign aimed at securing victory in the 2027 general elections in the state.

Ihedioha made the declaration on Saturday during the party state congress held at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Complex in Owerri. He stated that the party is building strong grassroots support and has already recorded significant membership growth across the state.

According to him, more than 200000 people have registered with the African Democratic Congress in Imo State, describing the figure as evidence of growing public confidence in the party and its political direction.

He expressed optimism that newly elected party officials would work diligently to strengthen the structure of the party and support its electoral ambitions in the coming general elections.

Also speaking at the event, the party leader in the state and former governor, Chief Achike Udenwa, described the Imo State chapter of the ADC as one of the strongest in the country. He commended the peaceful conduct of ward and local government congresses, saying the process reflected internal unity and discipline.

Udenwa urged party members to remain committed to the ideals of the ADC and to continue working toward improving governance and development in the state.

The National Vice Chairman of the ADC for the South East, Sir Bon Unachukwu, also addressed delegates, stating that the successful congresses have positioned the party for electoral success in the 2027 elections in Imo State. He praised the orderly conduct of party activities across various levels.

During the congress, party members participated in a voice affirmation vote that returned Professor James Okoroma as State Chairman. Other elected officials include Barrister Gregory Ihejirika as State Secretary and MacDonald Amadi as Publicity Secretary, alongside other executive positions.

The party leadership emphasized unity, grassroots mobilisation, and sustained engagement with citizens as key strategies ahead of the next general elections.
