Nigerian politician and African Democratic Congress (ADC) member, Dr. Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared that the party represents the only viable platform capable of rescuing Nigeria from its current challenges.
Okonkwo made the assertion while speaking on AIT’s Kakaaki, where he said the ADC’s core mission is firmly centered on the welfare of Nigerians and the overall well-being of the nation.
He criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as incompetent and corrupt, and argued that the country’s present condition reflects the failure of the party’s leadership. According to him, Nigeria’s political and economic realities under the APC offer little hope to citizens.
“The whole reason for ADC is for the welfare of our people and the welfare of our nation,” Okonkwo said. “As Nigeria stands today, this is the only option to rescue the country from the hands of incompetent and corrupt APC.”
Okonkwo also commented on the Labour Party and its former presidential candidate, Peter Obi. While acknowledging Obi’s rhetoric about a “New Nigeria,” he questioned the effectiveness of his political strategy and suggested that the ADC provides a more credible and structured platform for achieving meaningful national reform.
He added that many Nigerians joining the ADC have carefully studied the party’s constitution and leadership, and are convinced by the quality, vision, and commitment of those driving the party’s agenda.
According to Okonkwo, the growing interest in the ADC reflects widespread dissatisfaction with existing political parties and a desire for a genuine alternative capable of delivering real change for the country.
