Governor Uba Sani Commends Federal Government’s Efforts Against Insecurity in North-West Zone

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has praised the Federal Government for commitment to addressing the security challenges in the -West Zone through the establishment of the Joint Military Command and the launch of Fansan Yamma. Governor Sani shared views in a statement on his verified Facebook page after with the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru , in his office.

During the courtesy visit, Governor Sani urged the Defence Minister to consider integrating Operation Safe Haven in Kaduna under the jurisdiction of the 1 Division, Kaduna, to strengthen security efforts. He also commended the progress made in up Operation Safe in the North-West Zone.

“We must go beyond the kinetic approach,” Governor Sani stated, advocating for an focus on supporting security and improving localized intelligence systems. He highlighted the importance of stimulating investment, developing agriculture and agri-business, rural infrastructure, and broadening access to education and as crucial steps in combating insecurity. Additionally, he stressed the need to foster community engagement and promote inclusivity among all citizens.

Governor Sani also expressed support for the North-West Development , which he sees as a initiative in addressing the underlying causes of insecurity in the region. He emphasized the importance of creating a comprehensive development plan, describing it as a “Marshall Plan” for the North-West that must be people-driven and inclusive.

He further noted that the success of the North-West Development Commission would depend on the integrity, knowledge, and innovation of its leaders, emphasizing that there should be no tolerance for incompetence or sluggishness in its .
