Samsung is set to unveil its latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York. This event will be streamed live on Samsung’s official website, Newsroom, and YouTube channel starting at 10 a.m. ET.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is anticipated to feature a slimmer and lighter design compared to its predecessor, with rumors suggesting a thickness of approximately 3.9mm when unfolded. The device is expected to sport an 8-inch or 8.2-inch main inner display and a 6.5-inch cover screen, both likely to retain a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the Z Fold 7 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with storage options up to 1TB and RAM configurations of 12GB and 16GB. The camera system is expected to include a significant upgrade to a 200MP main sensor, potentially borrowed directly from the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Battery capacity is anticipated to remain at 4,400mAh, similar to the previous model, with support for 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. The device is also expected to feature enhanced Galaxy AI capabilities, building on the S25 series, with deep integration with Google‘s Gemini AI, including “Gemini Live” for voice conversations with the chatbot and using images/files as prompts.
Color options may include Jet Black, Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Green Mint, and possibly Coral Red. Pricing is anticipated to remain similar to the Z Fold 6, starting around $1,899.99.
In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Watch 8 series at the event. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is likely to feature a larger display and a thinner profile compared to previous generations, with improvements in crease visibility and hinge durability. The Galaxy Watch 8 series is expected to include the Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and possibly the Watch Ultra 2, with updates on Galaxy AI features and potential product teasers.
Samsung has also opened pre-reservations for the upcoming devices, offering early access opportunities and a $50 Samsung credit to use on accessories or other Galaxy products. Customers can sign up through Samsung’s website to receive updates and take advantage of trade-in deals and other offers.
